The Wallsend Winter Fair is a free fun filled, family friendly day. It is one of the largest, if not the largest street event in the Newcastle LGA; attracting up to 30,000 visitors throughout the day.

The Sydney International Bachata Festival is the world’s first ever Bachata Festival running since 2008! The event comprises 3 days of Latin Dance Workshops plus 4 nights of Parties with world-class Performances, the best Latin DJs and an urban Bachata concert!
This was the first festival of its kind in the world and it grows from strength to strength each year. Latin Dance lovers from all over Australia and the world come together to experience an amazing, inspiring weekend. Festival attendees can feast on a vast array of Workshops, witness some breathtaking shows and dance to the tunes of some of Australia’s finest Latin Djs. Over 40+ student and professional teams are selected from Australia in addition to our international guests. The Festival also features an Urban Latin Bachata concert on the Saturday night of the festival with a popular International signer or group!

Do you have a passion for the performing arts? Do you have experience teaching dance, music or drama? Perhaps you have a passion for working with people with disabilities and want to do more for the community.
Perform-Ability does just that, and now you can too!
The Perform-Ability Instructor course is the only of its kind in Australia. Learning directly from the founder of the company with over 10 years teaching experience, you will acquire the unique skills that you need to succeed in this industry.

The course is split into 7 modules and includes both online and face to face studies.

Your role with Perform-Ability
This February, we will be holding a short course which will include part of the above full course. Including how to effectively work with a person with a disability, our fool proof choreography secrets, our top teaching techniques and more.
Education Level: Introductory
Prerequisite: No prior experience in working with people with disabilities is required. It is however recommended that students have a minimum of 2 years experience teaching dance. Special exceptions are made on a case-by-case basis.

Some of our talented soloists will be performing at the annual end of year showcase with Australian College of Dance.
They are committed to assisting and promoting local small charities, particularly those within the dance industry and would love to be able to support our students.

LOCATION: Thomas Mann Theatre, 136 Chalmers St, Surry Hills NSW 2010 (opposite Central Station)
TIME: Show starts at 7pm (Running time apprx. 75 minutes plus interval time)
Perform-Ability has been scheduled in Act 1 so you have ability to leave earlier if needed.
Tickets have only recently been released and there is limited seating - reserved area for parents to watch can be arranged once we confirm numbers. Audience size will be around 140!!
In July 2018, Home Care Heroes gathered a group of daring humans, committed to dance to end social isolation and raise awareness, and dance they did!
As part of Mental Health Month, Home Care Heroes will once again hold a flash mob. This time, raising awareness for the important impact that loneliness and social isolation mental health.
Which is why we need your help! We need as many people as possible to join in the flash mob and participate in the dance for social inclusion! So invite a friend, colleague, your mum, your dad, even your grandparents! This is about including everyone!

We will be performing on Saturday 7th October at 10am.
This year the festival will be in Wallsend, rather than the Foreshore as in previous years.

Let your dreams take flight!
On Wednesday 4th of October Perform-Ability will be putting on their annual concert for families and friends.
We would love to have all of our students involved in this performance, as it is our biggest event and the chance for students from all over to come together and celebrate their hard work.
Please let your class teachers know if you are participating and be sure to pay your fee.
Students involved will receive a medal to congratulate their efforts.

Our students have been invited to perform at the Maitland Relay for Life again this year.
This is a wonderful event to be a part of with many people in attendance walking the track to raise money for the Cancer Council.
Students from Kearsley, Medowie, Maryland and Belmont classes are invited to participate, but if you are interested please let Miss Niki know before July 31st.
All classes are invited to compete at the Australian Latin Dance Championships.
This is a fantastic inclusive event with the opportunity to perform at the beautiful new convention centre for the grand final in Darling Harbour on the 14th-16th July.
Free Entry for students
$35 entry for audience members / parents / carers.
*This competition is compulsory for our Bachata Team students.
